Settings on an Canon DSLR for photographing glitter?

I have a Canon eos1000d, and I’m planning a photo shoot that involves black glittery face paint. Any ideas on the best settings to use when I take the photos? Thanks

Your camera meter will have problems with that. Personally it would be no problem at all for me. I would simply use my hand held ambient light meter to meter the light falling on the subject and set the camera accordingly. Otherwise, the second best thing to do would be to place a grey card at the subject and fill the frame of you camera with the grey card, and take a reading from the card. Then manually place those settings in your camera.
