whats the difference between a EOS camera and a DSLR ?

i wanted to know if there is a difference between a EOS camera and DSLR camera? because i don’t notice much difference.

EOS is one of those terms that always seems to get folks going.
As in “what is it?” EOS actually means Electronic Optical System – in other words electric lenses that do auto focus and exposure.

That’s only important when you relate it to the old 35mm camera lenses that did nothing automatically – everything was manual.

Canon makes a wonderful line of DSLR’s that all use EOS lenses.
So EOS actually refers to the lenses and that they can “talk” to the camera.
