What color is best on an LCD monitor (on a laptop) for longevity of battery power?

I know that black is the best color for a CRT to conserve energy. But what about an LCD screen what color is best–I know it isn’t black. List your source.

an LCD monitor has two parts, the back light, which is always on and consumes most of the power, and the LCD itself, a grid of crystals that are normally transparent. but go dark when a current is applied to them.

So believe it or not, white is the most economical color on an LCD monitor, but not really by any amount that you should worry about.
